Volunteers are the backbone of our community.
We want to recognise our local volunteers at the 2026 Fairfax Volunteer Awards.
Volunteers can be of any age and nominations are open to anyone you believe should be honoured for their service and contribution to our community.
The categories this year include,
Environmental Achievement Award
Recognises groups or individuals for dedication to maintaining, protecting, restoring or preserving our natural surrounds and wildlife.
Nominations are made by completing the nominee form below and sent to our office by Friday 15 May 2026. The forms can be emailed to ted.obrien.mp@aph.gov.au.

Small business is the lifeblood of the Sunshine Coast, supporting jobs, community sport and local livelihoods. But right now, the system is stacked against them, with rising closures and growing red tape making it harder to compete. We are pushing for a fair go through a new Small Business Act that backs local operators, cuts complexity and ensures small businesses can grow, succeed and keep our community strong.
