Heavy passenger rail connecting Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast is the single most transformational project for the Sunshine Coast and will become essential as the population grows. This is why Ted O’Brien and his Sunshine Coast LNP colleague Andrew Wallace fought hard to secure $1.6 billion in 2022 from the former Coalition Government to deliver the project (See here).
While the State and Federal Labor Governments spent years delaying the project, funding has now been secured to connect rail from Brisbane to Kawana with the support of the State LNP Government.
Ted will continue fighting to ensure the Sunshine Coast continues to receive record levels of federal government infrastructure including his vision to see rail from Brisbane all the way to Maroochydore.
