Speeches

“It was Robert Menzies who said: We took the name ‘Liberal’ because we were determined to be a progressive party, willing to make experiments, in no sense reactionary but believing in the individual, his rights and his enterprise. Free enterprise has been at the heart of the Liberal tradition since the party’s inception. Even today, half a century after Menzies first spoke those words, free enterprise remains the answer to many of the social and economic challenges our nation faces.”
