Energy Efficient Communities Program Business grants

Local News

Australian businesses need access to affordable and reliable energy. That’s why the Morrison Government is supporting our local businesses to be more energy efficient, reducing emissions and lowering their power bills.

We are investing $50 million in the Energy Efficient Communities Program, providing grants to help businesses and community organisations to save money by either installing new equipment or by reviewing and improving their energy management.

Eligible small businesses will be able to claim grants of up to $20,000 and, high-energy using businesses up to $25,000. Grants could be used to fund the replacement of lighting, air conditioning and refrigeration systems to help reduce energy costs.

We know that businesses and community groups are struggling under the weight of high power prices. That’s why we’re taking strong steps to ensure they get the practical support that they need to reduce their energy use without reducing productivity.

We are investing in them, so they can invest in their business, their staff and our local community.

Although full applications open in January 2020 for businesses, and September 2019 for community organisations, we are accepting expressions of interest now. Please fill out the EOI form (link below) and return it to my office by 27 March 2019.

The expression of interest form can be accessed here.
