The Morrison Government have several grants programmes currently open to support community groups, schools and businesses in Fairfax. Below is a snapshot of each programme and links for further information and advice. Please note that the 2019 Stronger Communities Programme, Building Better Regions, Communities Environment Programme and Local Schools Community Fund have closed.

Local sporting champions

Are you aged between 12-18? The Local Sporting Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships. If successful, applicants will receive $500-$750 towards the cost of attending their championships. Applications are open until 31 March 2020.

indigenous Languages and Arts

Through the Indigenous Languages and Arts program, the Australian Government invests around $20 million annually to promote participation in, and maintenance of, Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through languages and arts. The funding is available for a range of projects that seek to celebrate and promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through community-led Indigenous languages and arts activities.

Applications close on 6 April 2020.

Veteran and Community Grants Program

The Veteran and Community Grants Program provides funds to maintain and improve the independence and quality of life for members of the Australian veteran community by providing funding for projects that sustain or enhance health and wellbeing, specifically:

  • Deliver projects that are sustainable, financially viable and have an ongoing benefit for members of the Australian veteran community; and

  • Deliver projects that increase opportunities for members of the Australian veteran community, associated with social activity and community participation and/or improve health behaviours and support healthy places.

Applications are open until 27 February 2020.
