Funding opportunity for Sunshine Coast community groups

Local News Media

Community organisations in Fairfax are being encouraged to apply for grants to upgrade their existing facilities or build new community infrastructure.

Applications are now open for Growing Regions grants of between $500,000 and $15 million to help local groups fund up to 50% of the project costs.

Federal Member for Fairfax Ted O’Brien said he is committed to seeking investments for local projects that deliver practical improvements to the Sunshine Coast.

“We delivered record levels of federal funding to the Sunshine Coast under the Coalition Government and I’m determined to get as much out of the current Labor Government as I can,” said Mr O’Brien.

“I want to ensure local groups continue to get their fair share.

“Eligible projects for the Growing Regions program include community and sporting facility upgrades that enhance amenity or projects that help drive stronger economic opportunities for a community by, for example, making the place more inviting for tourists and visitors.

“Not-for-profit incorporated community organisations are eligible to apply for grants for up to 50% of the project costs.

“Members of local clubs and associations who have a project in mind are encouraged to contact my office for further information and assistance.”

Applications close on 1 August 2023.
