Labor’s proposal for a green rating for Australian vehicles is a new tax being delivered under the guise of an efficiency standard. It won’t reduce costs or emissions and doesn’t balance three essential components:
- it is not a genuine emissions reduction policy;
- it wont decrease costs; and
- it doesn’t allow for consumer choice.
