Ted O’Brien discusses his new appointment as Shadow Minister for Climate Change and Energy
I am honoured to have been appointed as Shadow Minister for Climate Change and Energy by the new Leader of the Opposition, Peter Dutton.
The role of an Opposition is to hold the Government to account and to provide alternative policies for the people of Australia.
My approach to holding the Government to account will be simple – to be constructive where I can and critical where I must.
I congratulate my colleagues who have also been asked to serve in the new Shadow Cabinet and I look forward to working with them and the Leader of the Opposition to ensure the Government delivers the outcomes that Australians need and deserve into the future.
This is a challenging portfolio to tackle, and I’m looking forward to it.
