NOVA’s new podcast series ‘Toward the Games‘, hosted by the Editor of the Courier Mail Chris Jones and popular breakfast co host David ‘Luttsy, invited Member for Fairfax Ted O’Brien to speak with them about the 2032 Games and his experiences as the Prime Minister’s ‘right hand man’ on the Games.
As the Special Envoy for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Mr O’Brien shares an intimate knowledge of Australia’s bid for the Games and the important decisions which must be made throughout the next decade in the lead up to the event.
Mr O’Brien made headlines across Australia earlier in the year when he publicly campaigned for vital changes to the Queensland State Government’s draft legislation which would shape the powerful 2032 Games organising committee. Mr O’Brien’s campaign has since been credited with ensuring the independence of five key positions within the organising committee to be appointed by the Premier of the Queensland State Government and consented by the Prime Minister. In turn, this is intended to lead to a fairer and more equitable result.
