It was an honour to personally congratulate our Olympic and Paralympic Champions this morning at our local Welcome Home event.
The atmosphere was truly energetic as we presented each Olympian and Paralympian with a plaque to honour their incredible contribution to sport in Australia and celebrated their shared success at the Tokyo Games.
It is particularly special to me, as our attention shifts towards the 2032 Games, to see the impact these athletes have on local kids, sportspeople and the community at large.
It’s certainly an exciting time for us on the Sunshine Coast.
